Aft on Deck 6/Boardwalk there is a stern-facing viewing area accessed via a path that circles around the AquaTheater. This "secret area" offers great views of the ship’s wake (trace on the water surface), also provides great views of the entire neighborhood and has a shuffleboard. There's a secret fore-located/bow-facing sundeck on Deck 14, accessed from the forward lifts by walking through the hallways.

On a two-day preview cruise of the ship, the characters seemed to be everywhere--the sail away party show at the AquaTheater, the Move It! Parade on the Royal Promenade, the DreamWorks character breakfast in the Adagio Dining Room, and in an ice show in Studio B. Although much has been said about the size of the Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas, the ships are only about 65 feet longer than other Royal Caribbean ships.

The OceanAria water show is shown six times per week, with two performances on each of the first three nights of the cruise. In addition to the main pool deck is an adults-only Solarium for guests aged 16 and above. Inside the Solarium is one pool and four hot tubs, two of which cantilever over the side of Allure of the Seas. Padded lounge chairs and other comfortable seating are also available. You already know that Sabor is one of my absolute favorite restaurants on any cruise ship, and I was ecstatic to find that it still exists on a couple of Royal Caribbean's ships, including Allure of the Seas. I ate there twice during my voyage and stuffed myself with some of the best guacamole I've ever tasted, along with chicken tinga burritos, tortilla soup, cheese quesadillas and fish tacos.

These include LifeFitness cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, yoga mats, kettlebells and exercise balls.

Allure of the Seas' spa and fitness area on Deck 6 is impressive. It offers a full battery of added-cost spa treatments (massages, facials, IV treatments, cellulite reduction, acupuncture), salon and barber services (haircuts, manicures and pedicures) and a thermal suite. If you find yourself fleeing a gang of ghosts, saving deep space from invaders, or starting a dance revolution, you might be at the Royal Caribbean Arcade. In other areas of the ship, ghosts of amenities past haunt the deck plans. Looking for Jazz on 4, which is still found on paper maps and directional ship models? You won't find it because it was converted to a nonsmoking casino years ago. At times, the nostalgic feel held over from original iterations of the Oasis class crosses the line into outdated or confusing.
In the end, I had to call guest services, and they added the booking manually. It was an issue more than once during the voyage — so much so that I resorted to calling guest services first rather than fussing with the app. I have mixed feelings about cruise mobile apps in general, often finding them glitchy at best and nonfunctional at worst. Historically, I've had little trouble with Royal Caribbean's app, but I found it frustrating to make reservations for shows on Allure of the Seas.
Those with a sweet tooth love the Cupcake Cupboard, and the area even has the first Starbuck's at sea. Those who want to do more than just relax by the pool can try out one of the two large FlowRider surf simulators, the zip line across Central Park, miniature golf, or basketball, volleyball, or soccer on the Sports Court. Our next venue is mostly outdoors on decks 15 and 16--the Pool and Sports Zone. Other venues at Entertainment Place include Jazz on 4, a jazz and blues club; Comedy Live, a comedy club; and the Blaze nightclub. As far as dining and lounge venues are concerned, I did not have any complaints with what was available on Allure of the Seas.
